Coral Reef: a ridge of rock in the sea formed by the growth and deposit of coral: Jamaica, is considered the third largest island in the Caribbean that has nearly 479 square miles of coral reefs.
Reefs exist in certain parts of the island such as Discovery Bay, Negril, St Elizabeth, and Port Royal. Some of the most exotic fishes such as snappers, grunts, and parrot fish are amongst some of the species most found along the coral reefs. Coral reef plays an essential roll in the sustainability of our the Caribbean and marine ECO system.
